How do you buy goods from Japan, like a sword or knives?
I really want to get some authentic Japanese swords, but I am unsure of where to buy them. Is it possible to buy Japanese swords online and have them shipped from Japan?

I have been doing some research on Google about buying authentic Japanese swords and knives and I have found a website which may be able to provide you with some useful information. It is swordlinks.com, I have put the link below.
They have so much information about buying these items, both from Japan and nationally, that I think this would be an excellent place to start looking. They even tell you which sites are only in Japanese and they also list all the many and various types of sword.
There must be at least 100 links to sites selling modern and antique swords and they are still adding to them, this is an excerpt from the site;
"When buying blades of any type, the transaction is always buyer beware. There are many fake and poorly constructed swords out there so we make no recommendations about these links. The descriptions you see are for information only and should not be construed as any form of recommendation. If the forgoing sounds like legalese intended to protect our buts, well — it is. But we equally don't want to see you conned so if you plan to spend a serious chunk of change start by joining a club or association and talking to people who know swords."
Another place with useful information is reviews.ebay.com, this guide has lots of information about buying a sword which you have not seen. They also tell you all about the type of steel used for the blades. I hope this is helpful.
