How do people convince a record label to sign this...collection of unpleasant sounds? And what kind of people does this appeal to?
Some musicians are great artists, and write great songs. And then there's this band. Perhaps I was mistaken, but I was under the impression that you had to be talented to be signed.

I'm guessing this would appeal to kids about age 12-15. Kids of that age are impressionable and don't have a lot of experience with music, so they tend to listen to whatever is played to them.
This song has a few elements that are appealing to this market such as a dance beat, autotune, and screaming. Don't ask why some people like screaming, but I guess some people do.
Personally I think this song is pretty bad. These days however there is so much music out there. Often good music goes unnoticed while bad music is given lots of attention. Unfortunately the music business is about more than music. It has a lot to do with image and connections.
