How do I use the "backrev" function on the Honda Odyssey Navigation system?
I used my friend's 2010 version DVD on a 2008 Odyssey to see what the new features are, before buying DVD for $185, and found it to be not worth it.
The problem now is that I cant use the 2008 DVD, it returns an error saying DVD is of older version. The FAQs section says "backrev" function can be used to downgrade the sw version, but even the dealer doesnt know how to do it or they want me to spend money on repairs or the new version.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

According to the cited websites below with the solution is to hold the Map, Menu, and Cancel buttons for at least 5 seconds to access a secret menu. From there the instructions differ on which exact options to select: One site suggests "force download" and the other said that he selected a menu item that said "version" before selecting one that said "download".
