How do I use my Dreamhost account to host the files of a website under a domain name which is registered on another registrar?
I have a dreamhost account, I want to create there a folder and install my wordpress files but I don't want to use the domain name associated with my dreamhost account; I prefer to use a domain name that I own on a different registrar. (without transfering the domain name to dreamhost).
The blog I want to install will be accesible on my otherdomainname.com/blog
How do you manage such a DNS "redirection" on dreamhost?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Log into your Control Panel - https://panel.dreamhost.com/
Click on "Domains" in the left panel.
Click on "Manage Domains" in the left panel.
Some hosts don't allow domains to be used that weren't purchased from them. So Dreamhost may not allow you to do what your after if you can't add them there.
You may need to transfer the domain to them, which costs $9.95 per year.
Alternativly, you could use a subdomain or folder to store the files on your current domain with Dreamhost. You could then forward or link to the files on that domain.
