How do I twist a soda can into a shell-like shape in photoshop?

I have a jpg of a soda can lying on its side. I lengthened the can using the free transform too and now I want to twist the can into a shell-like shape (around and around itself maybe 3-4 times). How do I do this?

Thanks!

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I am not really clear on what you want to do, so forgive me if I don't give you exactly the answer you need. It would also help to know what version of PS you are working with. If you have CS2 or newer, you might be able to use the warp tool. It is located in the transform menu. Have you tried that yet?

experience, though I could probably come up with some tutorials online if you need them.

I'm using CS4. Yes, I finally ended up using the warp tool, but I was hoping that there was a better way. The warp tool doesn't do a smooth job. I also tried the Filter->Distort-> Polar Coordinates tool, which did a little better job, but didn't turn the soda can into a complete circle which was what I was looking for.

Cut out the can so that it have no background. Use liquify under effects. Choose the apropriete tools. Use expand on the outside instead of shrink on the inside.

I see Liquify under Filter, but I don't see "expand on the outside" anywhere. Where can I find that?
