How do i stop getting emails every time there is a new answer to a question i already answered?

Uncheck the first one if you don't want to be notified if someone commented on your answer. Uncheck the second if you don't want to receive emails saying that someone else answered the same question.
These are checked by default. Just uncheck them when you're going to answer a question. :)

this is a good way to avoid getting emails but it doesn't answer the question of "how to i stop getting emails if i am already getting them?"
I think there's no way for you to stop receiving for the once you already answered and if your time's up when you still can edit them (which is after 60 mins you posted your answer).
Just make it a habit now to uncheck the two check boxes upon sending your answer. Anyway, you'll stop receiving soon when the asker has already chosen a best answer or when while it's in voting stage.
