How do I make it so that Norton Antivirus doesn't block Limewire?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Norton Antivirus does not block Limewire. It is the firewall in Norton Internet Security that will block incoming connections in Limewire. You need to set up the firewall settings.
Add Limewire in the firewall's program control list. Select the access option for Limewire as 'Allow'.

You can verify if it is the Norton Firewall that is blocking Limewire by turning the firewall off or the turning whole Norton service off. If it is not the firewall that blocks it, then it is probably your router. Then, you must add the appropriate ports in the port forwarding section found in your router configuration page.

It is a sheer case of firewall which is coming in way from Norton and is blocking Limewire. All you have to do is start Norton Antivirus/ Norton Internet Security. Go to Settings. Look out for category Web Browsing; now click on its sub-category called Personal Firewall. Open its options, which say Configure. Now go to Personal Firewall > Program Control. Through this way you would be able to modify the existing program rule and find entries belonging to LimeWire.

Look out for drop-down menus next to each program installed. Besides this there would be choices like Allow, Block or Custom. Choose Allow for all entries pertaining to LimeWire entries. Now restart your computer so that the new settings could take place.

Through this way you would able to use LimeWire along with Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security.
