How do i make flash animations and movies like the ones I see on Newgrounds.com?

Software, Hardware or a really good tutorial site explaining where I can get programs and how to use them. I know basics like timelines and sprites but I don't know how to import my own drawings and I want to know if there is a way to manipulate a single drawing instead of having to draw it hundreds of times.
Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

As far as manipulation images is concerned, I learned (& am still learning) that you will want to layer characters. If you are familiar with photoshop or similar you will know what layering means. (if not, it's like assembling the photo piece by piece instead of all at once. Like layer 1 is grass & sky, layer 2 is the house's main body, layer 3 is the door, layer 4 is windows, etc. etc.) Layering characters makes it so that you can move the character's arm without having to redraw him.

Unless you have a lot of money to spend on flash (about $700) I would recommend a Anime Studio (I have 5 but they released version 6). It's only $50 & should do everything you need.
Here's a link to buy it:

Here's a demo reel for it:

I believe you know this already, but be sure to understand 'tweening.' (it's when you choose the beginning & end of an action & the program automatically fills in the middle)

Hope to watch your animations soon!
