To make FireFox your default browser simply follow the steps below:
1 - At the top of the Firefox window (the menu bar), click on the "Tools" menu, and select "Options"
2 - Select the Advanced panel, then click the General tab
3 - Check "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup" (Under System Defaults)
4 - Click "Check Now" and select Yes to set Firefox as your default browser.
Firefox will now check if it is set as the system default every time it's started.
Hope that helps.
