How do I make an Irony Mark on Mac OSX? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irony_mark

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Unfortunately, due to its extremely rare usage, the irony mark is not included in the UNICODE character set. In order to use a character that looks similar to the irony mark, you have to install the Arabic language keyboard set. And really, it wouldn't be worth it to do this, because any time you wanted to type an irony mark, you'd have to switch the keyboard layout to the Arabic set, then back to your current layout to continue typing.

Your best option is a simple copy and paste. Go to that wikipedia entry for the irony mark, and just copy the character and paste it into a Word document (or your web browser, or whatever). Either save that document to an easily accessible location (your desktop, for example) so you can open it and copy and paste it into whatever document you're typing when you need it.

Sorry it's not the perfect answer, but at least it's something.

Command+option+T to bring up your special characters. Then search for the code 061F. It's the Arabic question mark, but it's damn well close enough. That English punctuation is most easily found in another language؟! But I have OS10.6. Not sure how it works in others. That's the unicode, anyhow.
