This is a proven step used in many technology development plans that has simply been applied to accessible technology.
These are the five steps that you should follow:
1. Define the accessible technology strategy. Define how accessible technology fits into your business by identifying a vision and objectives that set the groundwork for the next steps.
2. On the second step, you need to identify requirements and develop a comprehensive set of requirements by describing the scope of the accessibility needs of your organization and evaluating present technology that is being used.

One way to begin this planning is to survey your employees to find out their needs and technology ideas. Develop a needs assessment over a period of time. This is a technology timeline. Even before you begin the needs assessment visit the US Government Websites. The Small Business Administration (SBA) has a host of services and information. The US Department of Commerce website also is a great resource. Be careful of using commercial websites and blogs. Commercial sites want to sell you something and business blogs are really just personal opinions and frequently wrong.
