How do I fix my Xbox 360 Wired Controller?

The controller functions correctly but when I move it the controller disconnects. It only seems to work when it is tilted left and even then disconnects at the slightest movement.
The wire seems loose in the back, I tries everything to fix it, I opened the controller and tried to put it in place, I tightened the screws further than the default, I am even thinking of sticking woodfiller into the small gap.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

We had the same problem and, truthfully, we gave up trying to fix it and bought wireless pads instead. This was shortly before our XBox 360 came down with 'Red Ring of Death', of course.

However, if you are determined to attempt repairs, I recommend asking an expert. I did find a video about disassembly of a pad which might help (link to follow), but more importantly, the site has a messageboard. I advise taking a wander over there and asking your question again. Hopefully there will be someone with the answer you need.

Good luck

Sell the controller and try getting another because places like game always have offers on wired controllers and if not there there's always EBAY.
