How do i fix my daughter's pink iPod Nano?

The buttons and scroll wheel are completely unresponsive. Hold button is off. I already "restored" using iTunes.
Tip for best answer: M$5.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

How long ago did you purchase the ipod Nano? Is it still under warranty (or a better question, did you buy a warranty with it?).

How did it get that way? Depending on how much time has passed between now and when you purchased it, you can contact Apple to see if they'll give you a new one (especially if it's something wrong with the ipod itself rather than something you did).

It's hard to diagnose the problem and it sounds like you've tried restoring it so I can't think of other ways. Have you tried powering it down and then leaving it for a day before trying it again?

There's a handy support page for the apple ipod nano - just make sure you're in the right generation of nanos.

I took it in and Apple has ordered a replacement despite it being past the 1-yr mark. Thanks for the troubleshooting link and suggestion to just go in and ask.

Purchased 16 months ago from Costco. No idea how it got this way. I have tried leaving it powered down for several days, still unresponsive. Thanks for the links ... I'll check them out.

The first STEP in fixing your daughter's pink iPod Nano according to methodshop.com, is to " Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack. The hold switch is located in the top corner of the iPod. If you see orange, then the iPod is locked. To unlock the iPod, slide the switch in the opposite position."

For STEPS 2 to 4, on fixing the iPod Nano, kindly visit the link below:

Thanks for your response, but as noted above, the hold switch is off and the buttons are completely unresponsive, including trying to do a soft restart.
