How can I reduce the red-eye effect in my photos?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The reason you have such a problem is that the flash is too close to the lens and reflects the blood in the eye back to the camera. Almost any point and shoot will have problems with red eye, but the larger cameras usually are better. The only other option would be to buy a camera that has a hot shoe and then buy an external flash.
