How can I prevent yeast infection?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Being a woman I know all about yeast infections. In fact just last year I probably had one of the worst yeast infections I ever had, and this got me to thinking that there had to be a natural way to cure one. Yes, there are those over the counter cures on the market, but to be honest I would use these then about a week later be plagued by the symptoms of a yeast infection all over again. Why because even though I had treated the infection, I wasn’t treating the cause, which are the Candida bacteria.

So I have found some natural ways to treat and even prevent a yeast infection from starting. Here are some things you can do in order to prevent a yeast infection.

Acidophilus: Taking Acidophilus tablets or capsules are a great form of prevention against a yeast infection. Acidophilus puts good flora back into the body, something that is needed especially if you have been currently on an anti-biotic, because anti-biotics will kill good bacteria in the body along with the bad.

Garlic: You can take odorless garlic tablets to help prevent a yeast infection. Garlic is a known blood purifier.

Yogurt: Eating yogurt with live cultures can also be a great prevention against a yeast infection.

Another word of advice is to keep yourself dry, moisture can breed the bacteria associated with a yeast infection, and a few to do this is to use baby powder or panty liners.
