The Serpent and the Rainbow
A 1988 horror movie by Wes Craven, starring Bill Pullman and Cathy Tyson, loosely based on a non-fiction novel of the same title by Wade Davis, a Canadian anthropologist and ethnobotanist.
The Serpent and the Rainbow explores inherent conflicts between opposing world views, that of material science on one side, and archetypal magic on the other. As such, the movie represents a detour from Craven's more familiar rip 'n' slash classics, and has achieved somewhat of a cult status, among horror fans in general, and Wes Craven admirers alike.

Write a Guide Note for the movie "The Serpent and the Rainbow" (want to see how good you guys are at writing!).
I'd like to see if someone out there can write me a "Guide Note and Fast Facts" like the ones you see on Mahalo's search results. I found a film we don't have in our database: The Serpent and the Rainbow.
Take a look at what we're looking for here:
http://www.mahalo.com/Watchmen_Movie
1. Basically a completely original introduction of the film (like a definition in some ways--two or three sentences), 2. some fast facts (like the ones below), 3. a synopsis of the plot (brief obviously), and 4. the main cast (like top 5-10 folks).

Good job on your first try at writing a guide note! It can definitely be challenging. I would encourage you to seek out more resources other than Wikipedia when looking for source material. While we do use Wikipedia pages as links on our pages, we don't use them for sources. If you find a great wiki page, look at the bottom where the reference links are as well as the external links. These would provide better primary sources for research.

Good job on writing your first guide note! Overall I was impressed with the fact that you had multiple sources. The first part of the guide note was fine, with the exception of a few grammatical issues. However, the synopsis was a bit on the light side. I would always err on the side of too much info rather than not enough. That way we will have more to work with when editing a guide note. Again, overall you did a great job!
