Does the Megan Fox peer pressure PSA cross the line?

As part of the promotion for her new movie ''Jennifer's Body,'' actress Megan Fox recorded a PSA on peer pressure advising students to "be yourself" even if that involves "slowly killing, then eating every boy at your school."

The film is about a possessed cheerleader who kills and eats (gross!) male classmates. Does this promo go too far or is it a genius marketing strategy?

Too far??

Hold on! Are you guys actually taking this seriously as a REAL PSA?

Ha! This is purely a joke video and publicity stunt for her new movie. I completely 100%, with every fiber of my being, doubt that they meant to touch the lives of any teenagers with that ad.

And yes, I think it's damn funny. I love that it beautifully parodies real PSAs, and then launches into a few different shock moments that come out of left field. It's funny, clever, and original. So no, it didn't go too far! And I think Megan Fox is a great sport for recording this.

Didn't you guys catch on when the corny buzz word graphics were being flown on to the screen? It reminds me of a Veridian Dynamics ad!

I agree... realizing that there is a movie attached to this makes sense.

Still, I think that there is another joke that could have been told other than the "killing and eating" one. Again, it might just be old age setting in at 32, but I'm not a fan of celeb's endorsing violence. Even if they're joking.

Now don't get me wrong, I'd prefer my kids seeing sexual material over violence anyday (I'm a lover, not a fighter)...but when it's such comical violence and horror I think they played it just fine.

Killing other students? Not a funny joke. Killing AND eating other students? Crosses over into wacky, and is funny.

I think it goes too far. The first time I watched it, I was quite taken back. I guess that's the idea though. Admittedly, I chuckled a little when she swore, but it got pretty "unfunny" after that. I don't know, I guess I'm not the target demographic (male, 20-something professional).

I'm sure someone out there is paranoid about someone using the video to justify some disgusting action, and that's probably swinging a little too far the other way, but Megan Fox has done well by being only slightly tasteless in an amusing way - this is going a bit over the edge. On the bright side, it's a short clip. If she rambled on about similar content for another 30 or 60 seconds, it probably could have been a lot worse.

Hold on... did she really just say that kids who feel like they're different should "Kill and Eat" people they don't get along with?

I like the "F 'em" language... that hits home and is sensational enough to get some play... but sending any sort of message to kids that violence is an answer is 2 steps back, not a step forward.

Oh is that what's going on?

This is a viral promo for a new movie she has coming out? Well that's different.... wired, odd and maybe even a little wrong... but I guess a view is a view to some folks.

Still violence when related to kids really isn't something to joke about. I get that it's a joke video... but it has a serious tone. I'm sure quite a few "different" kids take what she says to heart. It only takes one kid to take that video out of context and hurt someone.

Maybe I'm getting old, but yeah... this isn't cool.

@robbrown, you know I love you, but...teenage girls eating teenage boys is nothing to joke about?? Really??

Because the whole premise just screams JOKE to me!

To me, your argument is akin to watching this video and saying that amputees with chainsaw arms, and evil mini Ashes tying a person up in an old windmill...are nothing to joke about.

It's just absurd horror at its best! Don't you think?

I can understand that. I think the video accomplished what it set out to do, then. After all, how much time have we spent discussing this movie now? :D

If there is a new movie related to "killing and eating" then yes, this was engineered to be viral and cause as much discussion as possible.

I don't want to detract from the seriousness of peer pressure and the ramifications of succumbing to or being negatively influenced by it, that video my have crossed a line but..guess I will be the first to applaud.
I think that peer pressure PSA / promotional video is absolutely f'n hilarious! Bravo!

It is a very bad advertisement for such a film. Yes, you have to be yourself. But what does it has to do with killing the other teenagers and eating them? Why can't they make a funny advertisement to catch attention?
