What's the best home remedy for heartburn?
I have tried it all. Countless prescriptions, diet changes, supplements. And I still wake up most nights with painful heartburn. I want to know success stories from others who have tried easy home remedies that have worked for them.

You can help reduce future heartburn by making a few simple changes, such as avoiding foods that are known triggers, acidic foods like tomato sauces, alcoholic beverages, carbonated drinks, and anything that contains caffeine. Don't overeat!
Don't go to bed or take a nap within a couple hours of a heavy meal, and sleep with your head and shoulders slightly elevated--try putting blocks under the headboard to give your bed a slight downward tilt. This will keep stomach acid from splashing back up into the esophagus.

Garlic, Apple Cider, Bananas, Almonds, and Papaya.... Garlic is great because it strengthens the heart and boosts immunity. Reasonf or working, it is a "powerpacked" anitbiotic...
I've tried it...it actually did work...as nastya s it is chewing on a garlic clove...sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...
Hope this helps..
Here's a link with info on each remedy..

Oh wow... if I tried to take garlic or anything with cider I would be breathing fire! Almonds make mine worse too... But I am going to have to try the banana. I've never heard of that before.

i would suggest staying away from the meets for a while as it might be something in ham or something u might be eating.. Try to eat light and drink some soda preferably coke... No candy, also I suggest taking Excedrin it is the best pain reliever i have ever had. Thanks Mike !

Baking soda water! I have a box of it in my bathroom just for that night time heartburn. I just mix about a tablespoon of soda with a little water, drink and then lay down flat for about a minute. After a minute I sit up and belch really loud. This works about 99% of the time for me! Try it!!

The best remedy I have found is to drink 4 to 8 ounces of 2% or whole milk. Since it is a base, It helps to neutralize the acid in your stomach. Other tips to prevent heartburn like you're describing: - Don't lie down for 45 minutes to an hour after eating.
- Prop the head of your mattress up on a few books so you aren't laying completely flat.
- Drink a cup of milk before bed. I found the 2% or whole works best. Anything less and you'll end up with heartburn. I prefer whole milk for heartburn control at night. Do not make the milk hot. "Warm milk" may help you sleep but I've noticed that for some reason it doesn't control heartburn as much.
Also, not sure if you've tried it, but I started taking Zantac for other issues and it helps with my heartburn too. I take 3 Zantac (150 mg) a day. But without it, these other suggestions work wonders for me.

I was just reading around that milk is a no-no for heartburn. But when all else fails, it always works.

A half a dozed blanched almonds might work at least a little bit. So might eating a few slices of raw potato. Try this link:
