Which stainless steel can opener gets the best reviews?

I want a stainless steel can opener, but the one I've found, the Cuisinart Deluxe Stainless Steel Can Opener, model SCO-60 has bad reviews. I'm NOT looking for a $19.99 appliance; I want something that will last a very long time, so willing to pay extra.

P.S. you may want to also look at the ranking by bestseller as an indicator of customer popularity - when you go to the website at the original search, look in the top right hand corner and toggle sort by bestseller as it is ranked by best review right now - then scroll through and read about the top ones in the reviews - because sometimes just a ranking is not good enough, there may be specific features or lack of them in the top ranked product that would make you decide to choose something ranked lower but that had that missing feature etc. as you can see everyone does not buy number one in each case,
you can see their actual sales ranking number for the entire amazon.com store also in many cases. Some of it could be due to the fact that people may have problems searching and finding everything but still those ranking lists are invaluable - also scroll down and look at the recommendations some customers have made, or if the customer who viewed that item viewed something similar that is interesting, or for related items or what they suggest, also sometimes individuals make up listmania lists of favorites and give a lot of detail on important points. Good luck.

p.s. don't laugh, money is not the best indicator of long life in every case, in the timespan of having numerous 20 and 50 dollar can openers that I had not checked any reviews for break - a one dollar manual camping style canopener is still going strong - so I canned replacing the expensive ones.....

Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention I want an electric one, not hand held; I don't have great hand strength.

That's interesting because Consumer Reports gives it a good review here;

http://products.howstuffworks.com/cuisinart-deluxe-stainless-steel-can-opener-sco-60-review.htm

It's also at the top of the list here;

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/958247/top_10_electric_can_openers.html?cat=6

Here is another one Consumer Reports likes;

http://products.howstuffworks.com/hamilton-beach-walk-n-cut-can-opener-76500-review.htm

The Westbend is red but it has a good review here;

http://products.howstuffworks.com/hamilton-beach-walk-n-cut-can-opener-76500-review.htm

This Westbend might be the same thing and it has a lot of good reviews at Amazon but it is plastic, chrome, and aluminum

It was good to find a decent review about that product however you should know that is not the official consumer reports website and should not reference it as such. The official site is: http://www.consumerreports.org
