What are good uses for a used, worn-out pillow?

I want to keep it out of the landfill and recommend a good reuse to others too.
We throw the annual Pillow Fight in February in San Francisco and would love to offer these suggestions to attendees.
Thanks!

Donate them =) When we helped out at the salvation army we created blankets out of materials such as these

This answer worked best for *large numbers* of pillows, as what we have leftover after the Pillow Fight.

You can combine feathers from several old pillows in a new one.

It makes a nice dog bed for a small dog.

Combine two in a decorative pillow sham and use as a toss pillow on the couch.

Use them to cushion a wooden chair--you can recover them in fabric that matches your decor.

Roll them up and use them to block drafts a tthe base of doors and windows in the winter.

Donate them to a shelter--they can use all sorts of bedding, even pillows that you would consider worn out.

Well i happen to think they are a great way to make the bed your cat or dog sleeps on just a bit more plush. It must work brilliantly be cause my dogs never complain when i fluff them up.

Travel Pillow, if you go on long road trips or go on frequent flights, a pillow can make the flight or trip much more comfortable.

About six months ago I found that the cushions in my couch were getting really soft and saggy. I took an old pillow, cut it open, and separated the inside material into layers and put it inside my cushions. It really helped to add to the firmness of the couch again.

I just used some for packing for a major household move. They can be helpful to fill space voids and also provide protection against scratching, etc.

If there is a local pet shelter or wild animal shelter they may be able to put them to good use especially during the winter.
