I found this info on Mahalo.com "How to get rid of Mosquitoes." It has some very good information. Hope it does the job. Good luck.

Solution:

Prevention

"At least once or twice a week, empty water from flower pots, pet water bowls, birdbaths, swimming pool covers, buckets, barrels, cans and playground tire swings.
Clean out clogged gutters since the stagnant water can produce hundreds of mosquitoes each season.
Aerate ornamental pools or stock them with fish. Water gardens are fashionable but become major mosquito producers if they are allowed to stagnate.
Clean and chlorinate swimming pools that are not being used. A swimming pool that is left untended for a month can produce enough mosquitoes to result in neighborhood-wide complaints."

Treatment

"If mosquitoes are already taking over your outdoors, treat your lawn, shrubs, trees and groundcover with Bayer Advanced™ PowerForce® Multi-Insect Killer Concentrate, Bayer Advanced™ Complete Insect Killer For Soil & Turf Concentrate and Bayer Advanced™ Complete Insect Killer For Soil & Turf Ready-To-Spray. These formulations kill up to 60 nuisance insects including mosquitoes, fleas and ticks on contact and lasts for weeks. If rain is on the way, don’t worry, it’s rainproof in 60 minutes. It’s available as a concentrate or ready-to-spray."

I am going to vote for this as best answer, however there is a very good way to take care of them in your home. Get some mosquito repellent coils. King is the best brand. They come in coils, but you will not need the whole coil. Break off about two to three inches, and stick this into the hole on the side of the little metal bracket that came with the package of coils. Place the bracket in an old pie pan. Light it and wait for a few seconds until it is burning well. Now blow it out. The coil with continue to smolder, and it will kill all the mosquito's in the vicinity. When they are especially bad, and it is early in the day, stick the whole coil onto the point at the top of the metal bracket and let that thing smolder all day.
Sometimes, if I suspect that there is a mosquito in our bedroom, then before I go to bed, I take a pie pan, light about an inch of coil and put it in our room and shut the door and the windows, about an hour before we go to bed. That way the room is clear when we go to bed.
