We use a Hyloft ceiling storage system, and it is great. It mounts right to the studs, is very adjustable, and is a great way to get items out of the way. We put a lot of seasonal items up there, from strollers to the christmas tree stand. We also use the plastic crates, fill them up, and stash them in the Hyloft. It is great because it keeps the items away from possible water on the floor, dirt, if you have mice, etc.
Depending on how much weight you put in it (ours is 45 x 45 and holds 250 lbs), you can also hang things from hooks from it as well. I got mine on Amazon, and it was free shipping despite being such a large item!
We also have some large hooks from the ceiling, from which we hang a lot of stuff - like the fertilizer spreader (hangs by its handle), a SCUBA wetsuit, even an empty sandbox.
I also mounted several wire shelves over the utility sink to keep things neat, and so that I have a place for things like drippy sponges, rags, cleaning spray, etc.

Space-saving techniques in a garage?
We moved into a new house, and the garage is technically for 2 cars, but that must be if you store absolutely nothing else in it. I'm looking for any products or methods to save space in the garage (overhead storage, creative shelving, etc) so we can put both cars in there without having to crawl out the sunroof.
