Meh, they are okay, but honestly unless you are a college student who just needs something fun, they really aren't great pieces of furniture, especially if you ever plan on entertaining a group of people..for some reason guests might be turned off by the idea of sharing a humongous bean bag!

However, if you are interested in getting one, consider putting it in a rec room type of area; it's great for a couple of people to sit in while playing video games, and they actually make a decent bed if you ever have a guest staying over at your place!

I don't think having one makes you a jack ass unless you plan to use it as a pick-up line or something ... "hey baby, wanna check out my lovesac?" ;) I have not sat in one myself so I don't know how comfortable they are, but as far as adding to a room I think they're different in a good way (agreeing with the previous answers that it depends on the room and your style).
