Does anyone out there own a Roomba? Does it actually work?

I have a Roomba, It is the red one. His name is Mr. Belvedere (at least thats what we call him) and although he is pretty neat to watch and my kids like him, he stinks at cleaning the floor. I wish it was better but, it isn't. It isn't powerful enough for carpet and it scatters the crumbs on hardwood. And he takes forever to do a little room. Sorry!
