Does anyone make a reasonably priced free-standing gas range with controls at the rear?
All the gas stoves I find have the controls at the front. Probably has something to do with burning the hair off your arms while lighting the burners, but still.

I'm not sure why you are wanting this but I was wondering the same when I was trying to child proof my house and find the following. Child proof stove nobs, and I see there is a patent out for a stove that has nobs on the back of it.

A stove knob could look tempting to a child. They're curious to know what it does especially if they've seen you move it plenty of times. To keep your child from turning the stove or oven on you can put some stove knob covers on them. The covers go around the knob so the child cannot move them. best thig to do is to child proof it.
