a huge bee family has been moved into my mailbox... amazing... any advice to solve this problem?

If they are honey bees, a local bee keeper may be able to assist you in relocation of the hive. With all the disappearing honeybees, they are happy to remove them alive and well.

If they are not honey bees, or you are not sure, contact your county vector control. They are responsible for pest management.
