It's so close to the date that most places are going to be either closed or booked. I take it that your home won't work or you wouldn't be asking.
Some of the places we've had extended family get-togethers in the past have been club dining halls (like Rotary, Lions, Masonic Lodge); restaurants that have banquet halls; apartment complex clubhouses.
The best has been at a hospital! A couple of the hospitals in our city have attached hotels, and the hotels have big, open spaces available for rent. One of them includes a hotel suite with a kitchen in the rental fee, so we have a bathroom, a couple of TVs and a bed if anyone needs it (like if they're not feeling well). Toronto is big enough I'm sure you have some hospitals with similar set-ups, and since hospitals don't close on Christmas, they may have this unbooked. Worth a shot to check, anyhow.

Sorry about that -- newbie, didn't realize copy pasting was unacceptable.

Where should I host a Christmas get together?
Toronto specific answers would be nice. I also realise it's last minute, but I am looking for some ideas as to where I might have a Christmas get together (on the 25th) for dinner, drinking, and whatever else is included..

Actually, my house was something I want to avoid given my living situation (others in the house).

Your home, around the tree is always nice--but if that doesn't work, you may be able to get some ideas form Mahalo's Toronto Restaurants page. It includes describes, websites, and phone numbers, as well as a variety of price points.

One, copy/pasting seems acceptable on this site (look at the huge number of Best Answers that have done just that), as much as I think it is kind of weak.
Two, it is very common for restaurants to have VIP areas for rent, or simply areas they will block off for you. They'll even let you throw a small jazz trio in there. Typically, they will do the food, and perhaps give you two food choices per appetizer, entree, dessert, &c.

i know this sounds old fashioned, but how about an old fashioned Christmas Caroling excursion. You meetup somewhere, go around spreading the Xmas cheer, then decide on the fly. This is so much more happy just being together instead of trying to plan out the perfect day. This is what i do every year now. There is no telling where i might end up and every Christmas is perfect.
