Watched ABC's Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve. Saw the Clinton's press the button, watched the ball drop, kissed my wife and kids, sent them to bed, typed out this question: http://www.mahalo.com/answers/offbeat-questions/now-that-is-it-2009-on-the-east-coast-what-is-the-first-thing-you-will-do
and then went to bed ;)

(FYI: Red Dragon Inn is a quirky and entertaining board game you should check out if you aren't deathly afraid of or unaware of RPGs. It's based on RPGs but isn't one - the premise of the game is that you are drinking at an inn after a raid - great light-hearted card game that doubles as a drinking game.)
Welcome to 2009 (and perhaps Zunes work again...)!

What were you doing when the ball dropped?
I asked in an earlier question whether you would be on Mahalo when the ball dropped.
Were you actually on mahalo when the ball dropped?
If you weren't, what did you do?

I was in the cold on 44th Street in Times Square looking up at this bright object as it was dropping. I was recording this object from the start of the countdown with my camera phone as people said, "Happy New Year!" My hands and my body are still recovering from being out in the cold for nearly 12 hours to wait and watch the ball drop. There was about a million people around me!

Yes! I am still recovering from being in the cold! They had us in a cage and we could not leave to go to the bathroom or anything. It still was the most awesome experience! Happy New Year! I saw the Jonas Brothers, Lionel Richie, and The Pussycat Dolls.
Definitely worth watching the ball drop, and if you were on 44th Street like I was, it was an awesome view. I got to wear a big Nivea Hat, and saw all the confetti floating! Glad I only had to stay out in the cold, and did not have to clean up the confetti :-)

With my boyfriend and brother in my husk of a bedroom (we're moving) playing "Red Dragon Inn." I Mahalo'd shortly before and shortly after, but not during! I was home alone on my couch eating a Krispy Kreme donut and watching the stunt thing on ESPN because my girlfriend and all of my friends had plans already. Kind of depressing, but I made the most of it.

At least you did not have to wait in the cold! I really saw it, so finally figured out, and confirm that this ball drop thing really does happen, and it's not some fancy animation on television :-)

I was at the bay with about 200,000 other people. Listening to live bands, watching the fireworks and sneaking a few drinks (its a dry zone) Also watching the mass amount of fights going on.. and people getting bottled. Not the best new years ive had.

I was actually on Mahalo until about 30 seconds before. Then I was pulled into pouring out some sparkling juice for the kids (slumber party). I was back on Mahalo about 3 minutes later, and was pulled off again when my son found a stash of fireworks and everyone went outside into the 15 degree F with 5 degree windchill weather to shoot them off.
