I love real Christmas trees. Being able to go out into the woods, pick the perfect tree, chop it down, then drag it in through the front door. The only negative is the clean up, but I think it's worth it to get the real feel of the outdoors in your home.

Yes, a real one, because of the smell, but only if they plant a bunch more for every tree they cut.

On a second thought, I don't celebrate Xmas because I'm atheist, so I prefer walking among trees because of the smell.

Both are looking fine to me! It's the process of setting it up that I enjoy:)

Oh! Setting it up... So that's what the Christmas tree is all about. I still prefer to walk in the woods.
Note: I'm not being sarcastic.

I prefer real trees but until recently, I always used to have an artificial one. The problem I used to have with real trees was that they used to drop needles everywhere and were a pain to dispose of after christmas. However, I've now discovered that if you buy a real tree that is potted and still has roots attached, keeping it watered prevents the needles from falling and it can be re-planted. Also, the local council has started a tree collection service in the new year so now that all of the problems have been solves, it's real trees all the way for me.

I think a real tree looks better, however we're using our artificial tree this year as we haven't had a chance to go and purchase a real one.
It's a shame, but it does save on cleaning up the needles!

Fake:

1) Can put up earlier
2) Can keep up longer
3) Don't have to worry about dumping water into the bottom holder
4) Don't have to vacuum up all the needles that fall off
5) Better chance of your house not burning down.

The real one. You can fake the look, but it's hard to fake the smell:)

I prefer a real tree, but the risks just arent worth it. There are very nice artifical tree available that do not carry the risks of fire. I always prefer to err on the side of caution where my family is concerned.

i prefer a real tree. The smell of the trees is different from the fake tree even though lots of works to make sure the freshness of the tree. It feels more traditional celebration.

I used to say a real one.

but last year we bought one of the fake pre-lit Martha Stewart trees from K-mart. Looks greats and much easier to clean up at the end :)
