Next Question
This year, I am doing something completely different than I have ever done. I will celebrate the holidays with my husband's family in Michigan. I am not quite sure what the schedule will be. It is always difficult to be away from my parents at Christmas even though I am nearly 40. Hopefully being with my honey's family will help.
Today, I sorta feel like all my family traditions have been lost.
Thank you for asking.

At the end you trade in your chips for tickets, we have than a raffle for the gifts that were brought. Money is donated to the local food bank, gifts 'can' be donated for the salvation army in our community. And we have a BLAST every Christmas Eve.
Christmas day- we have a small family of 8 we do a prime rib, lots of drink, open 'home made' gifts and laugh like crazy. Most of our friends will stop by and enjoy with us. This year we have a 19 lb prime rib and are expecting around 14 people to drop in throughout the day! Yay the holidays.

I go see my parents on Christmas Eve, celebrate with them, open questions (close to midnight) between us and the family. Then Christmas morning, I sleep in as long as I can before someone takes me away from my blissful slumber. We open presents, eat Cinnabons(ritual), and watch movies all day. I rarely leave the house on Christmas, but I have a few times to see movies in theater.

I don't celebrate, but me and my sis who's bdays are awfully close to xmas - have a routine. We put on a Bing Crosby record of some christmas carols and wear christmas sweaters - it's more of a joke then anything else. But our bdays are so close to it that I've never felt left out at xmas. I love the atmosphere of the season.

I go to an annual "Poker Party" our community puts it on every year. The money that is won ( we pay in $5, $20 or $40) get a certain amount of chips ( like 100 a dollar etc) we all bring food to eat and a wrapped gift worth $10 dollars). At the end you trade in your chips for tickets, we have than a raffle for the gifts that were brought. Money is donated to the local food bank, gifts 'can' be donated for the salvation army in our community. And we have a BLAST every Christmas Eve.
