If your birthday falls on the 25th of Dec, do you feel cheated because of Christmas?

It's your own special day. Do you feel bad that you have to compete with the holiday? Do people remember or do they tend to forget more? Do you always get a single gift for the 2 occasions? For the rest, how would you feel if your birthday falls on the 25th?

Yes, you feel cheated, especially before you have your own family.

As a child, it was always "Merry Christmas" -- "oh, and by the way, Happy Birthday." I really only had one relative who actually gave me separate gifts and made it seem special, and it wasn't my immediate family.

The other BIG bummer is that all your friends are otherwise occupied, so it's impossible to have a great birthday party. Plus, all those cupcakes in the classroom? Nope, none for me. (Waah! ;-)

Now, however, it's great. My wife and kids are great, and I'm never reluctant to have a party after Christmas. Plus -- and this is the best -- it's a great excuse to get yourself *incredible* gifts (an amazing car, once-in-a-lifetime family vacations, an espresso machine, an HD TV, etc.).

So -- yes, cheated in youth but easy to make up for in adulthood. :-)

Makes it easier to take your birthday off work, sometimes I can't get mine off. I think it would be worse to have a July 4th birthday and work in a grocery store or something. You'd never get your birthday off work.

yes. i think anyone born between late november to early kanuary gets ripped off by Christmas overshadowing their birthdays.

my daughter was born in the first week of december. we've celebrated her birthday twice on that actual day. other times, we've had parties as early as october 10.

i was born on my mother's birthday and 5 years later, my little brother was born on our birthday. so with 3 on one day, our birthday became a big deal (like Christmas in april) and my poor dad's birthday (too close to and occasionally ON father's day) got lost in the shuffle. same as my august born brother.

i dated a 12/25 girl in highschool and she hated the timing of her birthday.

As a new years eve birthday I can say that I feel cheated sometimes. Just about everyone celebrates new years, not just Christians, so it makes it even harder to have a birthday party with friends of different religions.

Always having vacation for my birthday is way better than having parties in school as a child so I don't miss that at all. All of my friends remember my birthday without facebook reminding them so that is also nice.
