How long do you normally stick to your New Years resolution?

What are the craziest resolutions you've ever heard or done?

The harder my resolution is, the harder it is to stick to. So for my most unrealistic ones, I never get past a couple of weeks. If I can make whatever it is part of my routine, I can stick with it for months.

I think my craziest one was to cross-country ski daily. That would have worked when I was a teenager, but then I moved right after I made that resolution to an area where it snows about once a year, if that. So I kind of didn't keep that one up...

Spring Break. I really can't do them. Probably because I set crazy goals for myself, like spend an hour surfing the net only. HA. Right.

The craziest I've ever heard was a long time ago, someone at my high school wanted to change his hair color every month. He started conservative - black, auburn... then came blue, pink, suspension, back to natural sandy color. He lasted a good long while though. Wish I had pictures.

I kept mine for 2008! My goal was to read 50 books during the year, and I passed my goal last week. :) I am good about not making goals for myself that I don't think I can actually reach. I hate failure. hah.

My husband likes to make silly resolutions like, "I resolve to go commando at least one day a week." He can't even keep those.

I can't seem to keep the resolution to work out more often.
My coworkers can't seem to keep the resolution to quit smoking. Last year I don't even think all the ones who tried made it through the day.

In my profession (therapist), there's a definite increase in clients at the end of January who are frustrated that they haven't achieved their goals... or haven't even started.

I don't make New Year's resolutions. I make them all throughout the year. There's a certain obligation associated with NY's resolutions... and people tend to rebel - consciously or unconsciously - against obligations.

Stop making New Year's resolutions and just set goals to change/improve your life.

Consistency. Even if I can only do a certain task for a min or two, I just make sure I do it so that it becomes a habit.
