Well, this really depends on what you believe defines the spirit of Christmas. Personally, I think it is generosity and kindness. Simple as that. You know, you don't need to go out of your way all year round to please people, but Christmas is the season of giving, and as long as you're kind, considerate, respectful, and mature, I think you're in good shape. And this isn't just for keeping the spirit of Christmas, I mean sure that applies, but all those qualities make us better people. There is too much hate in this world, and I think we need to calm the heck down enjoy people's company.
So, basically what I'm trying to say is be smart and kind. The spirit of Christmas can be with us all year long if we put a little more kindness in our actions and thoughts. It's not a huge task to accomplish.
Mahalo and Happy Holidays! :-)

thats easy, thanks for the 1M$1, by going delusional, nuts, crazy, loco!
I think one of the most important aspects of Christmas spirit is the giving nature that people have. Besides giving physical gifts, people take extra time to spend with family and are generally friendlier towards others.
To keep this up through the rest of the year, people should spend more time thinking about how they can make other people, both family as well as random others, feel happier. Small gestures can make a huge difference in someone's day.

The spirit of Christmas is must be understood or appreciated first. What is the spirit of Christmas?
The spirit of Christmas is often found
In things that we can see
A street of gold and silver
A sparkling Christmas tree.
It’s found in quiet serenity
Of freshly fallen snow
In lights upon the river
A candles’ gentle glow.
It’s found in pretty presents
And treasures of delight
In stories told of Christmas’ past
On cold and wintry nights.
It’s found in Yuletide carolers
Who stand out in the street
And spread good cheer and tidings
To everyone they meet.
It’s found in bustling cities
As choirs get up to sing
In sleepy little villages
Where lonely church bells ring.
It’s found within a beggar’s heart
Who kindly takes the time
To help a cold and hungry child
By sharing his last dime.
It’s found within the prisons walls
And temples made of stone
It’s found within the orphanages
And in the nursing homes.
It’s found within the wise men
Who brought gifts from far away
And the eastern star that led them
To the stable where He lay.
It’s found within the Spirit
This gift from up above
It’s filled with pure salvation
And wrapped in His sweet love.
It’s even found in old St. Nick
As he kneels down to pray
To Jesus, Blessed Redeemer
Who was born on Christmas day.
To keep the spirit of Christmas strong, remember the things that gave joy to your heart and make the spirit of Christmas last long.
Be happy for good!

I think christmas is more of an ideal than anything else, something that lives in the hearts of people with a young spirit.
And the best way to carry that spirit with you is to be young at heart.
Connecting with people on a simple joyish level is what the idea of christmas really is.
Just my 02 cents.

Grey matter between my ears.

Although not difficult in theory, it becomes difficult for us all to follow in practice. If we all learn to remain satisfied with what we got, learn to smile in times of trouble and learn to give to who needs it the most, the Christmas spirit will surely prevail. But as I said, better said then done because we all are a lot self centred and it requires a lot of discipline & sacrifice to follow the right virtues.
I try to do something kind every day, particularly when dealing with strangers or people in public. (It can be as simple as reacting positively or smiling when I interact with a person; once I held a door open for a man in a wheelchair who was struggling). The world seems to have become a harsh place and so I try to add something good or pleasant to someone else's day, on a regular, consistent basis.
Being good is something you achieve by making people around you happy. Try to do it all the time by any means and you'll see that the heat you receive is exactly the same you feel sometimes during Christmas time (of course watch or read once a year the "A Christmas carol" by Charles Dickens).
Make a list of the attitudes and actions that, for you, exemplify the Christmas spirit. Write them down on the first page of a notebook. Then, when you wake up every day, review them and make it your intention to put one into action that day. In the evening, sit down and think of three things you did that were in keeping with this spirit, and write them down in the notebook. Then think of three things you did that went against this spirit, and try to figure out why you did them and how you could avoid repeating the mistake. Write them down too. Don't spend more than fifteen minutes on this, but so it every day. Then you will remember.
Give to others and a little spiked eggnog can't hurt
