Well it kind of depends - pork tends to take a looooong time to do and taste awesome (like ribs should be slow cooked over night and tenderloins can take a few hours as well), where Chicken takes a relatively short amount of time (like 45 minutes over medium heat).
When I have parties, we always cook on the grill. My best recipes are chicken recipes cause it's easy, you can make a lot of it and it tastes awesome!! Get your fave bbq sauce and slather it on after you turn each side of the chicken a couple of times (because otherwise the sauce will burn, but still keep turning it). If you want, you can even marinade them in as little as an hour before cooking and it really enhances the flavor.
Now, that being said, pork is really good too, but ribs and tenderloins take a long time - but you can also cook a lot of them as well (I don't know anyone who just cooks like 1 rack of ribs!!) However, pork chops can be delicious and takes a pretty short time as well. They're always a crowd pleaser.
Still, I'm a chicken fan for parties. Pork is fun, but it's a little harder to do, and a ton of chops can be a little boring... Unless of course, you love chops!!
Check out the recipies at the Weber website below - whether you have a gas or charcoal grill, these are delicious. They have pork recipes too! HAVE FUN!!!
