What percentage of hockey games have a hat trick?

A commercial I've seen says there's a one in 18 chance of seeing a hat trick, but even this seems a little high. Are there solid statistics for this? Total number of hat tricks in NHL history?

Well, I don't have access to the historical statistics, but so far this there have been 2116 games and 58 hattricks, that works out to be 2.7%

I think thats a safe average, even with firewagon hockey in the 80's there were a lot less hattricks prior to that era. So probably more then 1 in 18 going by this years numbers.
