One of the best odor-absorbing methods is using charcoal. You may want to try placing the camera bag in some sort of air-tight container with some charcoal bricks. The number you use is dependent on how bad the odor is. Leave the bag and charcoal sealed for a day and then give it a sniff test. If it still smells, leave it in for another day or so. Afterwards, you may want to spray it with Febreeze fabric refresher to give it a fresh smell.
Make sure you use regular charcoal and not the self-starting type that contains lighter-fluid.
There are lots of other at-home items you can use to absorb odors as well, such as, baking soda, lemon/lime peel, coffee grounds, and tea bags. However, I have had the best results using charcoal.

You could also try putting some baking soda inside of it in an open container. I hear that it's supposed to absorb odors. It's worth a shot anyway.

What is the best way to remove smell from a camera bag?
I have this older, canvas camera bag. It has that old-bag kind of smell. What is the best way to get rid of the smell?
Keep in mind - the bag has metal clasps on it so I'm not sure putting in through the washer is the best bet..

You could try the dishwasher, it kind of depends on the material it's made of though. Canvas should be ok. Make sure it's on the top level so it doesn't overheat/melt. You could also try putting some baking soda inside of it in an open container. I hear that it's supposed to absorb odors. It's worth a shot anyway.
