Apparently, a muted yellow is a very popular color for yoga studios. Personally, yellow doesn't work for me because I often have way too much energy anyway. And with the wrong lighting, it ends up looking dirty and dingy.
I found a lovely example of what is likely my ideal indoor yoga room: http://stunningpics.wordpress.com/files/2009/01/yoga-deva-04.jpg This also shows that lighting and space can be as important, if not more important than the color. But the coolness, the airiness, the slightly blue/gray empty space is very minimal and peaceful. Much lovelier and freeing than stark white.
I would stay away from red and purple, which are associated with intense energy and opulence - not very conducive to yoga. The nature-association of green might be nice, though personally I prefer to leave green for when I'm actually outside, and use tranquil blue inside. But so long as you keep the paint light and carefully plan the lighting and mirrors in the space, you should be able to adjust yourself to have a rewarding yoga session no matter what color is chosen.
