It really depends on what kind of sewing class you are looking for, it also depends if you want to take one online, or in store. Here are few options that should help you.
Every month the craft store Michael's has craft classes. Some months its sewing, others its scrapbooking. I've never been to one of the sewing classes but the scrapbooking classes are amazing, the instructors are nice and caring, they really try to help you as much as you can. The classes are also farely affordable.
you could also try jo-ann fabrics, i've never taken a class there, so i really dont know what its like.
you can also go to the website sewing.patternreview.com they have begining sewing classes starting at $39.99.
Other helpful websites include:

I have taken sewing classes at a number of places, my local sewing machine dealer, quilt shop, junior college and community adult school. There are lots of good sewing videos at http://www.mahalo.com/sewing. Have fun!
