Depends if your slinky is metal or plastic, usually if it's metal and you untwist it, it will look funny. So carefully work where it's twisted, it takes a lot of patience, if you don't want to go through the hassle just buy a new one for like 75 cents.

From my experiences, if your slinky gets twisted, it's toast. Time to buy a new one. And my vote is for the metal kind - plastic slinkies are just not the same.
