Quilting cotton fabric makes great clothes! Why? Designer quilt fabric is usually 100% cotton, designed in small batches in interesting patterns, so you won't find hundreds of other people wearing the same thing you are. It is usually about 42 inches wide, so that it is economical, too.

Just make sure you wash the fabric before you cut out your pattern if it is 100% cotton - it make shrink a tiny bit and the colors may bleed.

Many quilt fabric designers and sites carry clothing patterns. The Asian-inspired cottons made by Kona, or the batiks made by Hoffman (among others) look great when made into jackets, skirts or trousers.

When you look for a pattern, consider the pattern manufacturer's suggested fabrics. If cotton or broadcloth are among them, then the pattern is suitable for how quilting fabrics drape. Enjoy!
