Can you actually mail HIV? I had heard that the virus dies quickly outside of the body.

The HIV virus cannot live for long...only a couple hours...outside of the body.

You heard it well - a HIV virus cannot survive on its own outside the body - it gets destroyed within a few seconds when exposed to air.
