According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakfast_cereal the first Packaged cereal was Granula, which was invented in 1863 by James Caleb Jackson, in the United States. That is cool it was made in the U.S. The funny thing was that the brand of cereal stated above was so tough to eat that people left it out over night, so that by morning it would be soft enough to eat.
