May Day, i.e., 1 May. It's a spring festival and a labor festival, but it marks May every year. It even used to be Child's Health Day.

Springfield, Massachusetts, on May 12, 1873, and in other cities
the next day.
Customers bought 31 million postal cards between May 12 and June 30, 1873,
This "fad" grew so fast it makes Twitters beginning popularity seem small in comparison!
