From my limited knowledge it was taken to Axum Ethiopia by Menelik son of King Solomon and Makeda, Queen of Sheba. (this link will verify who Menelik was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menelik_I_of_Ethiopia). When Menelik became a man he wanted to know who his father was and his mother told him it was Solomon. On knowing this he went to see his father who was happy to see him. He stayed with his father for three years and learnt his father people ways and religion. It was said that both Menelik and Solomon bare very similar resemblance and it confused the Israelites and they asked the King to send him back to his home land. Solomon state if them wanted this they would have to do so under certain conditions. On his way home Menelik and Azariah took the covenant of the ark with them back to Ethiopia. "One particular theory about the Ark claims that just before the Babylonians invaded Jerusalem in 586 BC, Levitical priests moved the Ark to Egypt to save it from being destroyed. After more than a century there, sequestered on an island in the Nile called "Elephantine Island," it was moved again, all the way up the Nile river to the source of the Blue Nile -- Lake Tana in Ethiopia."
"The belief is that the Ark was hidden on a remote island in the huge lake, where it was cared for by monks in a tent similar to the tabernacle in the wilderness.
The monks living on Tana Kirkos Island have not changed their way of life, or worship, for thousands of years. Even today, they dress in animal skins and live a primitive existence farming the small island. They also spend more than three hours a day in prayer."
"At the end of the day, there was no way to know for certain if the story was true or not. But one thing is for sure: there is no doubt whatsoever in the minds of Ethiopian Christians -- they have the Ark of the Covenant, and they really don't care if the rest of the world believes it or not."

Kirkos Island had evidence of a tabernacle, brazen bowels, silver long horns, and Levitical sacrifices.
Legend has it, the Ark of Covenant was moved from Kirkos Island to Axum. What is the history of the Ark in Axum? Did you find evidence of an Oblisk in Axum?

What points did you believe from the Keeper of the Ark?
I do agree with the Keeper that the government of Ethiopia has cause many evils to fall on the people.
The Ark could not be stolen, long-term, otherwise, the same fate of death, cancer, and destruction would have fallen on the thieves, as did the Philistines.
