Well I wouldn't recommend it, but you could always grab hold of the metal prongs on the vacuum cleaner and plug it in or go wire up a new ceilng fan and forget to shut of the breaker box.
Really though I am just kidding. You could make an electromagnet as an ode to Nikola. I found some great instructions on how to make one. Just visit:

Thinking of how to honor Nikola Tesla today. CD in microwave isn't really Tesla, but it does make lots of pretty sparks... any other ideas?
