I think at some point it could be, but it is not currently as dangerous. During the cold war we were at some points only one bad decision away from nuclear war. I think we need to keep on top of North Korea, Iran, terrorists and even domestic terrorists, but we are not at cold war levels yet. We also need to make sure the government doesn't wimp out and let us become vulnerable to make the US friends with everyone, there is a fine balance between fear, respect and hatred.
