Anne Frank's influence continues to this day. Frank describe the daily struggles of her family as they hid from the Nazis during World War II.
1. Time Magazine listed Anne Frank as one of the Time 100, saying Frank's diary, "symbolizes the power of a book....she became the most memorable figure to emerge from World War II — besides Hitler, of course." (http://www.time.com/time/time100/heroes/profile/frank01.html)
2. Frank's diary personalized the horrors of WWII to a "family experience, with which the once murdered and now resuscitated child invited her readers to identify." (http://www.cine-holocaust.de/mat/fbw001473emat.html)
3. Frank's words have inspired and influenced world leaders. "South African President Nelson Mandela recalled after his years of imprisonment for his participation in the political movement to end apartheid: "Some of us read Anne Frank's diary on Robben Island and derived much encouragement of it." And, President John F. Kennedy wrote: "Of the multitude who throughout history have spoken for human dignity in times of great suffering and loss, no voice is more compelling than that of Anne Frank."(http://www.sptimes.com/News/101899/Floridian/Anne_s_diary_spreads_.shtml)

There is a great movie called "Freedom Writers" where a group of high school students gain inspiration from the live of Anne Frank.

Based on a true story. The High school teacher brought peace to her classroom. She requested the students tell their story. The students felt understood and respected by the teacher. The teacher helped the students feel safe in the classroom, a home, and refuge.

The power of Anne Frank and other Holocaust survivors helped them understand that hate is unnecessary for survivial. The students began to believe they could accomplish anything, at a time when most were glad to survive to 18. The movie will make you cry because, it teaches so much about hope and courage.

I'm would like to read the biography of the teacher?
