Wow, what a concept! I'll bet you could research large-scale catastrophes and calamities that were actually recorded that happened within that period, but the bad luck that may or may not result from Friday the 13th would be happening on a smaller scale to everyday folks, too, so...I don't think you could accurately gauge the effect of the bad luck since so much of it would go unrecorded.
But when I'm rich I'm going to commission a team of researchers to figure this out once and for all...

Between 1582 and 1752, in particular, the Friday the 13th's occurred on different days...
depending upon which country you were in. Are there any studies showing the geographical distribution of bad luck on those days? There were twice as many Friday the 13th's overall, but each covered only part of the earth.
