I personally have not attended Autonomous University of Barcelona, however, I did find out some information:

-According to barcelona-university.es, AUB has four principles of autonomy: freedom to select teaching staff, admission available to all students, freedom to create its own study plans and freedom to administrate the University's capital.
-iAgora.com offers reviews from students and out of 102 reviews AUB got an average score of 3.08/4. 87% of reviewers recommended it.
Plant-biology.com calls AUB a "prestigious institute," a top European university, known for being a public research university.
-According to UB.edu, Autonomous University of Barcelona is ranked among the top 500 universities at 352.
-In the CHE Excellence Rating, AUB got Top Group placements in Mathematics and Physics.
-According to a case study on the support of students at AUB (http://cevug.ugr.es/massive/pdf/annex_3_cases/case_study_AUB.pdf), doctoral programs are "geared to the training of top-level lecturers and researchers." Doctoral programs meant for students who eventually want to go beyond a doctorate and attain even higher learning, like a Masters.
-Also, I'm not sure what your first language is but keep in mind the primary language for instruction at AUB is Catalan. Although, according to barcelona-university.es, there are a wide range of subjects in English and Spanish. You'll want to check with the grad program and make sure you'll understand the courses you'll need.

I hope this helps!
