Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
How easy is it for doctors to transfer countries, specifically to the USA from Europe and within Europe and with charities?
Okay, so I'm looking at becoming a doctor and doing Medicine at college (in Ireland you can do Medicine from the off, you do a degree in Medicine and then an intern year to become registered with the Irish Medical Board).
What's the story transferring? Each region has its own exams to verify a person is qualified, yes? Do you have to have a certain title before you can work in the US with no hassle (i.e. not repeating intern year and residency). Is it difficult moving around Europe (I know it's easy between the UK and Ireland so I mean other countries). Finally, charity work in Africa or South America, is it possible to do this while at college or do they only want fully qualified doctors? Any good charities I should research?
Thanks in advance :)
